A stock hair system is one that is usually produced in large quantities by the manufacturer. They are available in limited colours and sizes. Stock orders can be placed and delivered to you faster than custom orders.

A custom hair system is made specifically for the client. A template of the client's head is made to ensure a proper fit. A hair sample is taken to determine the colour and texture of the hair. The template and hair sample along with the order form is sent to the manufacturer where it is produced .

Select a base according to the style of hair that you desire and the type of attachment required. Certain bases will last longer than others.

Many of our clients prefer human hair over synthetic hair for stock and custom orders. Human hair can be chemically treated and styled like your own natural hair. It will last longer than synthetic hair. Synthetic hair cannot be colour treated, but it can be steamed to achieve a straight or curly look. Synthetic hair is great for someone who will be wearing a hair system or wig for a short length of time.

There are several methods of attaching a hair system. Many clients prefer to have the system attached to their own hair or scalp with a medical adhesive for a more permanent attachment. You can also choose to attach the system with clips or double sided tape.

The most important thing is to find an experienced hair replacement technician. He or She will cut, style, and service your hair every 4 to 6 weeks as required depending on your method of attachment. Your technician will show you how to properly maintain your hair in between services. Always use professional products recommended by your technician.

You are able to go swimming as long as your system has been properly attached. A more permanent method of attachment will tollerate a more active lifestyle.
